A LOOK BACK AT 2015
The global footprint of MEDICAL FAIR THAILAND 2015 was firmly fortified as the 7th edition of Southeast Asia’s most established medical and health care event that came to a close on 12 September with 7,226 trade visitors from 59 countries. The 3-day exhibition which focused on hospital, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, medical and rehabilitation equipment and supplies, welcomed 600 exhibitors from 42 countries including 15 national pavilions and country groups from Austria, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, UK and for the first time the USA, Turkey and Italy. The internationality of the exhibition was further reflected in the number of visitors, an increase of 13% compared to the last edition in 2013. 34% of the overall visitors came from overseas, mainly from ASEAN countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines and Vietnam, as well as other Asian countries including China, India, Japan and Taiwan.
ARTeC 2015 Conference
Alongside a show floor that had the medical and health care community buzzing, the unprecedented number of concurrently held seminars, forums, conferences and technical presentations such as the CIO Forum organized by the Thai Medical Informatics Association, the seminar on Electro-magnetic Waves organized by the Thai Association for Medical Instrumentation and the seminar on Biomedical Engineering Technology organized by The Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences, also received an overwhelming response. The 2nd Advanced Rehab Technology Conference (ARTeC) jointly organized by Messe Düsseldorf Asia, Royal College of Physiatrists of Thailand and Thai Rehabilitation Medicine Association, featured a seminar on interventional spine care led by Dr David J Kennedy and Dr Matthew Smuck from Stanford University Medical Center, while a parallel conference track that included hands-on workshops on musculoskeletal sonography on the wrist, elbow and hip were led by Dr Chueh-Hung Wu, as well as Dr Yi-Chian Wang both from Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the National Hospital Taipei, Taiwan.
